We have reached Practical Completion on the new flagship development Hayloft Point, situated in Middlesex Street, Aldgate.
Cumming Group EMEA acted as Cost Manager and Project Manager on the 24-storey student accommodation development in central London which will provide homes for 920 students.
There were significant challenges we overcame to deliver the Middlesex Street scheme, including the Covid-19 pandemic, discovery of archaeological finds on site requiring the structural frame to be re-designed and engagement with London Underground Limited (LUL) and TFL, due to the proximity of the site to a live London Underground tunnel.
Comprising state-of-the-art facilities including a free gym, an array of individual and group study facilities, as well as cinema, games and karaoke rooms. The project also consisted of D1 performance/exhibition space, 1,400 m2 of commercial office space and boasts a roof terrace on the 8th floor to showcase its incredible views of the London City skyline.
To mark the significant milestone, Unite Students hosted an event that invited guests from the teams, partners and the local community, as well as Higher Education and property industry professionals from around the country.

The project was completed in advance of students occupying the fully let halls for the start of the 2022/23 academic year.
