This purpose of this project was to bring the first Standard Hotel in Europe to market in London and involved converting a commercial office building, previously occupied by Camden Council, into a 266-bed hotel with three restaurants, a bar and ancillary spaces. The 10th floor restaurant — accessible from inside the hotel but also from the building’s external bright red lift — houses Chef Peter Sanchez-Iglesias’ restaurant, Decimo, which combines the Spanish cuisine of his family with his love of Mexico. Cumming Group, under the name of TowerEight, led a team to establish the potential of the existing property, whilst also looking to translate the aspirations of a traditionally American brand into a new and improved product for the UK market.
TowerEight successfully delivered The Standard in July 2019. It went on to win all five of the 2020 AHEAD Awards for which it was nominated, including:

• Restaurant Award (for Decimo)
