One Friargate, Coventry, UK

One Friargate was the first building to be constructed as part of the major regeneration development by Friargate Coventry LLP. The masterplan occupies 37 acres between Coventry Railway Station and the City Centre, which will comprise a vibrant mix of commercial, civic, leisure, residential and hotel space and provide a greatly enhanced public realm with major improvements to pedestrian access. The project was funded in part by EDRF and RGF grant monies and includes a BREEAM Excellent building. Cumming Group, under the name of Prosurv, are the Project Manager and Cost Consultant for the regeneration works.

The 13-storey building is a low energy, premium office building with an open plan layout enjoying city views and overlooking Station Square. It is occupied by 1,350 Coventry City Council workers, with two floors utilised by 300 staff from the Financial Ombudsman Service.

“I have worked with Prosurv Consult for more than 10 years in particular on Friargate, Coventry, a complex multi-phase, mixed-use development. Although the project is office-led, the first phase included extensive grant support for public realm and infrastructure improvements that required complex cost management and auditing of expenditure. Prosurv met the challenge and has consistently worked to a high standard. The firm is well led, professionally diligent and has a very good team ethic. As a result, I am pleased to recommend Prosurv for all projects, big and small.”
