Covent Garden Market, located at Nine Elms and known as the ‘Larder of London,’ supplies numerous restaurants and hotels with fresh produce and flowers. This landmark re-development of the Market is a 10-year, multi-phased project led by VINCI St. Modwen in partnership with Covent Garden Market Authority. The project will see the existing Market facilities, which were built in 1974 and currently cover three separate sites, consolidated from 57 acres to a single 37-acre site. The remaining 20 acres will be transformed into a mixed-use riverside development encompassing 3,000 new homes, as well as offices, retail, and leisure facilities for the community. The project also includes the construction of 15-metre-high distribution units totaling 500,000 square feet, a ‘live’ market environment that is operational 24/7/365, and space for 200 market tenants. Cumming Group, under the name Prosurv, is providing cost management and employer’s agent and contract administration services.
