Locking Parklands, Weston-Super-Mare

Located on the former RAF Locking site, Locking Parklands is a large-scale site that has approval for mixed-use residential, employment, education, retail and leisure, as well as the full refurbishment of the former RAF Chapel to create a community centre for the residents of Locking Parklands and other nearby communities. The first four phases of residential development have been completed, with a further two phases currently underway. There are a number of residential phases that will follow over the next five to 10 years, which will bring the total number of new homes to 1,450. An RAF memorial was constructed onsite as a reminder of the site’s history.

Cumming Group, under the name of Prosurv, were initially employed to provide cost consulting services and input to the Outline Planning Submission. This then followed with EA services for the infrastructure associated with the initial phases, which consisted of a network of site roads, new utilities provision and drainage. All works across the site are delivered to a stringent site design code to achieve Homes England’s site aspirations. The client is St. Modwen Developments.
