Cumming Group, under the name of MHBC Cumming, provided strategic programming, MEP, sustainability and dilapidations advice followed by project management, contract administration and MEP design services for the comprehensive refurbishment of 1 East Parade in Leeds. As a part of de-carbonisation works identified and undertaken under Schroders’ global net zero carbon strategy, existing central gas fired boilers and air handling units were replaced by an energy efficient VRF system and supplemented by on-floor mechanical ventilation heat recovery units. Original double-glazed units were also replaced with new high-efficiency glazing to increase the thermal efficiency of the property and reduce energy consumption. The building now provides over 32,900 sq. ft. of newly refurbished, high-quality and energy-efficient office space.
