Works are now well underway at The Island Quarter in Nottingham, with the concrete frame now installed up to Level 6 of Block A, Level 2 of Block B and Level 5 of Block C plus the first phase of Walker Modular bathroom pods delivered on site.

The Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) scheme is now in Phase 2 of a £1.4 billion development of the 36-acre development. The 693-bed project will offer a range of student room types, including studio flats and cluster living, to help address the forecast deficit of 7,000 student beds in Nottingham.

Cumming Group is providing project management and cost management services on the scheme which also includes retail space at ground floor level, two high-level sky lounge amenity areas and a private courtyard, whilst also accommodating significant public realm improvements to tie the development phase into the regeneration masterplan.

The project is due to complete in May 2024, ahead of the 2024 University intake, targeting a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
