The South East region’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to continue into this summer and beyond.

After the YoY change of -12.8% last year, total construction market volume is expected to rise in 2021 and 2022 and exceed 35.6 billion Pound Sterling, which is the 2019 level, by the end of 2023. Just like in other regions, private housing is the fastest-growing sector and contributes the most to total construction volume. For 2021, we forecast that public housing will have a YoY change of -32.9% and public structures will have a rate of -12.5%. All other sectors should see steady growth until 2023.
