Last year, the global pandemic did not impact Scotland to the extent that it did other regions.
In 2021, we expect the total construction volume to rise by 10.5% by the end of the year, and to reach 31.31 billion Pound Sterling in 2023. The infrastructure sector carries more weight more in Scotland than in other regions, and this sector kept throughout the pandemic. As shown in the Trends over Years chart, there were sudden drops for non-residential and public construction from 2016 to 2018, which may have been caused by the completion of large infrastructure projects in Scotland between 2017 and 2018.
